PostCard Wall Art

Do you ever find projects that you started a long time ago and never finished. Recently I was organizing my craft room and I found several projects that were half finished. Some of them I thought, "Wow, I am never going to finish this!" and this one I thought, "I can finish this one soon!"

On our honeymoon we went to the Columbia River Gorge in Oregon and Washington. We stayed in a little cabin and did a lot of fun things in the area. At one of the shops there I saw these postcards and I really liked the look of them. I decided to buy them with the plan of using them in some house decor.

Fast forward 3 1/2 years later and I found them stuffed in the bottom of my scrapbooking tote- so I decided to add some matting and a frame and put them up!

It was super easy, just some measuring, cutting and matting and we have some cheap, meaningful wall art for out in the living room!
The best part is we visited all of the places from the postcards!

I will be linking to several of these parties!
Thanks for stopping by!

I think this is great because the postcards we buy are usually more meaningful to us than to someone we might send them to...so it makes good since to get some to decorate with. I think I might use this idea to document some of my travels artistically. It also makes a good conversation piece!

What a great idea. I am going to Africa and Amsterdam here in a few weeks. I am going to make sure to pic up some post cards to do this with along with tons of my own pics of course. Do you live in Oregon. We live in Troutdale so of course the post cards caught my eye. Newest follower from Show Me Watcha Got at Not Just A Housewife.

I love this idea! I, too, have a stack of postcards from our honeymoon (almost 7 years ago!) that I need to do something with.
