Progress on my Veggie Wreath.

Vegetable Wreath progress Feb 2010

Vegetable Wreath progress Feb 2011

I have been working on my vegetable wreath WIP for the past couple weeks. Last time I worked on it was about a year ago (Feb. 14th 2010). I got a big patch of lettuce done and also a mushroom. Don't know if I will keep working on it now- haven't planned that far ahead. Here are some pics of the progress- doesn't look like much, but its coming together!
Well, back to the basketball game- go Wildcats!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY PENNY

A day late- but yesterday was Penny's Birthday. We celebrated by making her favorite- french toast with peanut butter on it. I can't believe she is one already. Today I am off work so I spent the morning cuddling with dogs, watching Grey's Anatomy and cross stitching. I am making a lot of progress on the vegetable wreath.

Well, better get up and going today- just wanted to share a few pics from Penny's birthday celebration!

Baby Shower Day

Today I went to a baby shower for my good friend. That means I get to post the projects that I gave to her. I was really excited to have her open them and I hope the new baby boy will love his blankie.

The project was similar to the quilt I made a few months ago for another friend's baby. It is a rag quilt made out of cozy flannel. I used the tutorial on this page. It is a pretty fast and easy way to make rag quilts and they come out so soft and cozy.

Back of the quilt- with the fuzzy part!

Back and front of the quilt.

Close up of the patterned flannel I used.

When I was finished I had some squares left over so I decided to make some matching burp clothes- you can't have too many of those, right. I enjoyed them and I think they are pretty cute.

I have been spending some time working on stitching too- making some progress on the Vegetable Wreath- if I get far enough I will post some progress pictures!

A Sweet Valentine Giveaway

Lynn at Happiness is Cross Stitching is having a Valentine's Giveaway. I just had to enter- all of the items are so adorable. She also does a lot of very beautiful stitching. Hope I win!!

Crafty/Sewing Weekend!

This weekend has been a good weekend for crafting and sewing. Last night my little sister came over and we had a good time sewing and cutting out fabric for projects. I did finish sewing a baby quilt- I can't post until after next weekend's baby shower, but I really liked the way it turned out.

Today I decided to work on some pillows that I had half completed. The picture below shows the two pillows I completed (the ones on the outside, the one in the middle I made several years ago). I don't think I am completely done yet because they don't quite match up.

This pillow was one that I had done a while ago- I quilted it using my machine and a stippling stencil. (Took this picture before I washed the stencil off!) I didn't think that I liked it as much- but then when I finished the second one without the quilting I think this one looks much nicer and it looked a lot better when it came out of the washer. Don't know what to do now.

I finished this one today- did the piecing on the front as well as finished the back. I like the way it turned out, but I am not sure if I want to quilt it to match the other. We'll see what my husband thinks when he gets home.

I also worked on some scrapbooking tonight and making a Valentines card for my sweetie. Lots of plans for crafting tomorrow too!

Happy stitching/crafting/quilting!
