A Reminder and Quick Tuesday Ten- My Works in Progress

Hi Readers,
I hope you are having a great Tuesday.

I just wanted to put out a reminder that GFC is going away on March 1st.  I don't know exactly how this will effect everything, but I know I follow a lot of blogs that are not blogger blogs through GFC so I have been trying to update the ways that I follow them.

Here are some alternate options to follow my blog:

Now on the the Tuesday Ten- My Works in Progress
Sometimes I feel like I have project ADD- I jump around from one project to another, sometimes even working on 4-5 projects in one day. I think it drives my husband crazy! But anyway, these are some of my current WIP.

1. Quilt for my nephews birthday. I am using this tutorial for part of it, and some applique for another part of it. It's looking pretty awesome so far!

2. Finishing up a beach bag and tutorial for my sister (I am done with the cute embroidery that will go on it!).

3. Jute wrapped letter for my entryway vignette.

4. Remember this old window I made into a picture frame. Well I am working on another window project- It was nice enough this weekend that I could get it out and get it sanded.

5. This isn't craft related, but I am training for a 10k and working on getting back in shape.... possibly a Half Marathon this spring too, maybe :).

6. Building a garden fence- this one needs to get done soon so that the deer don't eat our plants!
Here is our inspiration for that, kind of.

7. Baby presents for my sister- some of these she knows about- a nursing cover and birth announcement, but some she doesn't know about yet, so I will wait to share those after she gets them :).

8. My family quilt- a quilt made from fabric from my Grandmothers, my mother, my sisters and me. I can't wait to get this one done!

9. Refinishing and reupholstering our dining room chairs. I am partway through the process of stripping everything off the chairs, I need to apply some stain and polyurethane and add the padding and fabric.

10. Finish the Mother's Day gift for my Mom- not saying what that one is either :).

I guess I have my plate pretty full!

Thanks for stopping by and have a good day!

Progress on my Veggie Wreath.

Vegetable Wreath progress Feb 2010

Vegetable Wreath progress Feb 2011

I have been working on my vegetable wreath WIP for the past couple weeks. Last time I worked on it was about a year ago (Feb. 14th 2010). I got a big patch of lettuce done and also a mushroom. Don't know if I will keep working on it now- haven't planned that far ahead. Here are some pics of the progress- doesn't look like much, but its coming together!
Well, back to the basketball game- go Wildcats!

Birth Announcement is almost done!

Last Update on Birth Announcement.

Birth Announcement finished except for backstitching and name/birth info.
I am about half way done with the back stitching and it really makes the picture come to life. I love it, and it is just in time too, the baby may be here any day!

I am a little disappointed that I haven't got to do any Christmas stitching this year, but maybe I will once this project is done.

Keychains, get your keychains!

Made these keychains this week. I quilted the one side and then stitched them together. I am going to make a bunch of these for mini-Christmas presents, maybe stocking stuffers. I am getting excited for Christmas. Only one week until Thanksgiving! well, less actually.

And I have made some progress on the Birth Announcement. I will really need to focus on this in order to get it done in time!! It is moved to the top of my goal list (along with the December Erica Michael's design).

Happy Stitching and thanks for reading my blog!

5. The main thing I started this month is a quilt. I am very excited about it. I started this on Sunday and I have been working on it every day. It is going to be a 60" X 60" lap quilt. It has 8 different fabrics which are shown below. I love all of the fabrics and am excited to see them all together. My progress so far is- Made the pattern, bought and washed fabric, and cut all of the pieces for two of the colors.

My pattern is shown below. I made it up by seeing one I liked on etsy.com and making my own pattern. I hope it turns out well.
This is my first quilt, so if anyone has any tips or advice just let me know! I am sure I will be posting progress as I go.

3. August Calendar ornament

On another note, we have started harvesting from our garden. We have gotten a couple batches of green beans and we have tons of tomatoes that are getting close- We are planning to can this year so I am getting pretty excited.

Happy Mother's Day!

I have been working on a Mirabilia angel. It is really pretty so far and I just ordered the beads for it. I am having a little trouble finding the metallic DMC floss needed and the Kreinek metallic floss needed. I have found them all on the internet, but all at different places! I may have to wait to finish it for a while. I am going to work on this tonight after I am finished posting (we are watching the new James Bond movie, so I will stitch and watch).

This Friday at work I am entered into a pie baking contest. Here is my practice pie, Strawberry Meringue(sp?). It is really good. I made one for our mother's day celebration there and my whole family really enjoyed it!

And just one more picture. Last weekend we went out to the lake with Scout. She had such a good time once she figured out how to paddle.
Happy Mother's day to all mothers!

Almost finished

This is a pic of the May month from Erica Michaels. I actually have it finished with the doggie button sewed on, I just don't want to take a pic right now. I really like the way this turned out with the flowers and everything. Now I just have to sew it into a little pillow, and just in the nic of time too.
This week has flown, actually this whole month has flown. I did start on a new project (a kinda bigger one!) this week. I started on hunting companions for my husband. He wants me to change the white dog in the middle to look like Scout, which hopefully won't be too hard!

Well I hope anyone reading this has a great weekend and gets some good stitching done!

Vegetable Wreath WIP

These past couple weeks I have been working on my Vegetable Wreath. Below is my progress thus far. Above is what the finished product will look like. (Sorry about the bad pic). I am excited with how much I have done, but then I looked at the finished picture and I realized I have a lot left to do! But I am moving on for now. Going to work on May and July, then maybe some scrap booking.

This past weekend I did some shopping for stitching supplies and clothes. I got a couple bread covers and a pot holder to stitch on. I can't wait to pick out patterns to put on them.

On another note, I got some exercise today. Scout and I ran about 2 miles and walked a little more. It felt good, but now my body is very tired. Now I just need to do it more regularly!

Happy Stitching!

Progress and a lazy day

This is the progress that I have made over the past week. I stitched quite a bit last weekend and then some evenings after work.
Under the Friendship Tree

This past week has been pretty good, our first daffodils are popping up. I am getting very excited about our garden this summer. So far we have seeds/bulbs for: 3 kinds of lettuce, green beans, snap peas, cucumbers (pickling & reg.), summer squash, zucchini, dill, parsley, cilantro, red/white/yellow onions, and radishes. We still plan on getting tomatoes, green peppers and jalepeno peppers. Yay.

We had my sister and her dog over for dinner and I got a few pics of them. They were bad dogs though and tore up some of the landscaping. This week I plan on stitching on April and May for the perp. calendar. I also hope to get the number blocks patterns made. I maybe will get something done today, but so far all I've done is lay on the couch with Scout!
