What a month- Ran a Half Marathon, Bought a House- and a whole lot of moving, cleaning, unpacking!!!

Well I haven't posted in a while- but I am going to forgive myself since I have so much going on! The first day of May I ran my first half marathon in Wichita KS. After training hard for the past 3 months I was ready for this race, but I was still very nervous. My sister came with me to cheer me on and I finished in 2 hrs, 2 minutesand 30 seconds. It was quite a bit below my goal time so I was happy!

Then on May 3rd we bought our first house! It has been very exciting moving, unpacking, getting things set up but it is also a lot of work. I haven't got all of my craft stuff unpacked (well actually not much of it is unpacked). But I have been working on a few projects- and have been doing a lot of planning for projects for the new house. I am planning on doing some roman blinds following the tutorial on Jen's What's New blog here. Tonight we went to pick out fabrics at Hobby Lobby- found a few we liked but none we had to have so we are going to keep looking for now. Can't wait to have time/money to complete ALL the projects I want to do in the new house and I look forward to having lots to blog about!

Soo Stressed

Feeling a little stress right now. This week we close on our first house- so 80% of the house is packed up- I have all of my crafts packed up- barely any food in the kitchen.

I know this will all pass and I will be very excited to be in the new house, but right now I just want it to be done!!!

Also I am running my first half marathon this weekend- great timing right? I am excited but nervous for this as well.

Can't wait to get in the new house and set up my new craft room.

DOG N' JOG !!!

I made a shirt for Penny for the Dog N' Jog race we had last weekend. I made it from an old T-shirt I had. It took a while to figure out where to cut and sew to make it fit well. /then I dyed it purple and had sewed the power cat on there. The race went well and Penny did so good. It was hard to get a good picture of her with her shirt on.

Probably won't post for a while. We got the new house and so I will be busy packing for the next few weeks! Excited to move!

Ahh, wish it hadn't been so long since my last post!

For new years I had a resolution to post more often on my blog- my plan/hope was to post about once a week- well that has not happened this month. At the beginning of the month we put an offer in on a house and it was accepted. We got very excited about moving and I spent a lot of time packing, doing all the paperwork involved with purchasing a house, and cleaning this house. But the inspection didn't go so well- so it looks like we will not be moving as soon as planned. But, I guess that means I don't have to pack up all my craft things yet!

At the beginning of the month I got my K-State quilt back from the quilt shop. She did a tight stipple on the white part and a meandering stitch around the border and on the power cat. I love the way it turned out and I can't wait to get it to Bret's parents. I finished the binding last weekend and I also love how it turned out. Below are some pictures of the details.

Today I had a sewing fail- maybe. I am running in a Dog and Jog race next weekend and Penny is running with me. I wanted to make her a t-shirt for the race. I tried to make it out of one of my old t-shirts. My husband was so sweet and helped me figure out where to sew/cut. I think we may have over done it because it is a little tight. I may have her run a little with me this week to see if she looks uncomfortable- most likely I will just make her a K-state bandanna to wear-

I have been working on my vegetable wreath WIP for the past couple weeks. Last time I worked on it was about a year ago (Feb. 14th 2010). I got a big patch of lettuce done and also a mushroom. Don't know if I will keep working on it now- haven't planned that far ahead. Here are some pics of the progress- doesn't look like much, but its coming together!
