Quick Summer Maxi Dress Upcycle

This is the project that I did for Project Recycled, but got voted out before it was shown on the contest. I altered this maxi dress to something I will like to wear.

I actually purchased this dress from the Salvation Army the week before I found out I was going to be on Project Recycled. I spent $4.75 on it.

It was about 8 sizes too big but I love the color, pattern and the lightweight fabric.

I saw the potential in it.

So I took in the sides and viola- a summery maxi dress for me.

So simple yet so cute- very satisfying results!

The First Week of Project Recycled is Up!!! Go Vote!

I have been so excited for this day because the first week's challenge of Project Recycled went live this morning! There are some great projects.  I would love it if you would make your way over to the T-Shirt Diaries and vote for your favorite. You can vote once every 24 hours. We had a great weekend. My in-laws can to visit, we got to go to a great surprise birthday party and yesterday we got a lot done on the garden and yard! Hope all of your weeks are off to a great start!!

I am on Project Recycled!!!

So last week I found out that I am going to be a contestant on Season #2 of Project Recycled over at The T-Shirt Diaries.  The first challenge goes live April 2nd!

 I am really excited but also a little bit nervous.  My main concern is time- how am I going to get all of the projects done on time and not neglect everything else in my life?

I already have started on a few of the challenges and I am excited about the ideas I have for the rest! And this gives me a chance to clear out my "Upcycle bin" and make some new clothes!!

I will be posting updates periodically and I will really appreciate your support during this challenge. The projects are anonymous so I can't tell you which one is mine- but I will be asking you to vote for your favorites!!
