Made some MADE shorts and I Was Featured!

Happy Monday everyone, hope your week is off to a good start!

So I decided to make the MADE basic short pattern again for my niece. I added a couple inches to the pattern because it was a touch tight last time.  They fit ok, I need to add a few inches at the top so they aren't so short in the crotch for her. But she does look pretty adorable in them and she liked them a lot!

Also my jewelry hanger was featured on Made it on Monday!! Hop on over and check it out!

Late 4th of July Post

Hope everyone had a wonderful 4th of July holiday last weekend- we had a blast, but this week was very hard to get back to the daily grind!! Here are a few highlights of the weekend.

Marley was being a stinker and did NOT want to take pictures with the shorts and bow I made her, so here are a few of the best ones that I managed to get- sorry about the blur :).

Here is a view from the back to see how they fit her- they were pretty tight so next attempt will be a little bigger! And she loved the shorts so much that she had not one, but two accidents in them, oh the potty training days!

Went swimming with my nephew Eli- I happened to get a wasp sting at the pool this day which swelled up a whole lot- who knew I was allergic to wasp stings?

At my Aunt's house my sister, my cousin's daughter and I decided to make some hair clips- we got creative and made quite a few- it was fun to see all the variety of colors! We let the little cousins wear them the next day and take them home.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great weekend. I am excited for my next post- after the baby shower this weekend!

4th of July Shorts

I have been wanting to make some clothes for a long time- so I decided to make a pair of shorts for my niece. I would like to sew clothes for my future children- so I need to start practicing now! I used the tutorial on Dana's website MADE. I had also seen a lot of blogs with people recycling old t-shirts so I decided I would try that too.

I started with this shirt- about 10 years old, never really have worn it a lot----

Pattern template from MADE- altered to make girl shorts.

Finished shorts- the star is just a piece of old navy blue t-shirt and sparkly tulle sewed together and appliqued on.

Since I made these cute shorts I decided to make a cute hair clip to go with it. I used the tutorial from Disney's Ruffles and Stuff blog- so easy and so cute.

I plan to make a tank top with some ruffles on it to match for Marley to wear on 4th of July. I had her try them on today, they were very tight, but should fit well enough to wear on the 4th. When I make more shorts I am going to make the pattern template bigger!

And since the flower was so easy to make- I made another pretty pink one- Marley loved it!!

Happy Sewing and Stitching to all!!
