Thrifty Projects in the Works

Finally got started on a few projects for the house last night- mainly did a lot of sanding. Here are some of the finds I am refinishing to make our house purdy!

This rocker I found on Craigslist for $20- Super sturdy and comfortable, all sanded up and ready for paint!

Found this shelf at a garage sale for $3- nothing too special but it should work well in my craft room.

Old windows for free from my sister. I have a couple projects I am sooo excited about planned for these.

This little guy was my best friend last night!!

Stay tuned to see how they all turn out! And make sure you come by later this week for my first tutorial!!!

  1. I LOVE old windows!

Thanks for your comment on my post. THe trice I found to getting a good rosette is to use a pipe cleaner (also known as "Fuzzy sticks" and can be found in the craft section @ walmart). Cue the fabric into a 2 inch wide strip. Start at the top, dab a bit of hot glue to get the pipe cleaner to stick, and then in the fabrice creating a "tube". Just remember to dab more hot glue along the way. :) Hope that helps!

  2. I cannot wait to see what you have planned for those windows! I love what you did with the rocking chair. It is a LOT of fun! I have a desk I've had since middle school that I am going to sand down and repaint a lavender/grey combo. I just need time....LOL!!
