Andes Creme de Menthe Chunk Cookies

It's time for another addition of New Food Friday! I decided to try out a new cookie recipe for holiday baking this year. This recipe was sooo good! I took some as a gift to my friend and she went out the next day and made them for her family get together.

Andes Creme de Menthe Chunk Cookies-
1/2 cup salted butter- softened
3/4 cup dark brown sugar
1/2 cup white granulated sugar
1 tsp. baking powder
2 tsp. vanilla extract
2 eggs
1 package (10 oz) Andes Creme de Menthe Baking Chips
2 2/3 cups sifted all purpose flour

Blend butter, sugars, baking soda, baking powder, vanilla and eggs until mixed.

Stir in Andes Baking Chips and then flour.

Chill approximately one hour in refridgerator.

Measure out approximately 1 oz of dough, form ball and slightly flatten.

Bake on non-stick baking pan at 350 degrees F for about 8-10 minutes.

Cool on pans for two minutes before removing.

Makes about 4 dozen cookies.

If you have a New Year's Party to go to this would be an excellent recipe to take and share!

Waterproof Bag with Zipper

I love making homemade presents for my nieces and nephews for their birthdays. Unfortunately I don't have all of the time in the world so often I don't get to make them homemade gifts. I was a little upset when I realized the only homemade gift I had made him was his birth announcement and his fifth birthday was in November!

So I made him this cute little bag with a dinasour embroidery on it.  I made the pattern for the dinasour myself and embroidered it onto charcoal gray Jobelan.  I then made the zippered back with a vinyl lining so it is waterproof.

After seeing the pictures I realize they are not very good- sorry about that, but you get the idea!

I plan on posting the tutorial for the bag later this week, it is a quick project that would be a great Christmas or birthday gift.

I hope he enjoys it!!

From Zoe's Kitchen- White Chicken Chili

I hope the holiday season is going well for you all with not too much stress!

I have got most of my Christmas shopping done- just a few more presents to get and a few more to make!

Here is a quick, yummy recipe to serve up on these cold December nights. I love this recipe- very hearty and nutritious at the same time. I don't remember exactly where I first got this recipe but I have altered it several times to add some more vegetables.

White Chicken Chili-
Olive oil
1 lb chopped boneless skinless chicken breast
14 baby carrots, chopped into coins
2 stalks celery, chopped
1 onion, chopped
1 can chopped green chilies
4 cans Navy beans, drained and rinsed
2 tsp cumin
salt and pepper to taste

Cook chicken in the oil over medium heat

Add carrot slices, celery, onion and saute until soft.

Add green chilies, beans and seasonings- heat through.

Serve with grated cheese and enjoy!!!
